Όταν δεν είχα τίποτα να χάσω, είχα τα πάντα. Όταν σταμάτησα να είμαι αυτή που είμαι, βρήκα τον εαυτό μου.

Όταν έζησα τoν υποβιβασμό και την πλήρη υποταγή, ήμουνα πραγματικά ελεύθερη. Έναν υποβιβασμό που ήταν πιο έντονος και πιο διαπεραστικός από οποιοδήποτε πόνο. Κι όμως, το μόνο που αισθανόμουνα ήταν απόλυτη ελευθερία, ότι είμαι ζωντανή. Σαν να συνέβη μια έκρηξη φωτός και ξαφνικά βρέθηκα να μπαίνω σε μια μαύρη τρύπα της ψυχής μου, όπου ο έντονος πόνος και η αγωνία σβήνουν προς απερίγραπτη ευχαρίστηση, ωθώντας με πέρα από τα όριά μου.

Ίσως να μην ήταν πραγματικότητα, να ήταν ένα όνειρο, ή από εκείνα τα πράγματα που συμβαίνουν μόνο μια φορά. Ξέρω ότι μπορώ να ζήσω και χωρίς αυτό, όμως θέλω να το ξαναζήσω, να πάω ακόμα πιο μακριά την επόμενη φορά.

Γιατί μόνο όταν έρθεις αντιμέτωπος με τα όριά σου, τον ίδιο σου τον εαυτό, μπορείς καταλάβεις τον άνθρωπο που στέκεται απέναντί σου.
